History

Carpet Products, founded in 1967 by Chet and Alice Barrows, was originally located in Cranston, RI and operated out of their family home garage.  With three employees it eventually grew out of the family garage into a warehouse on Glen Road in Cranston in 1968.  Shortly after the move they opened their first branch in Massachusetts and eventually grew to have branches throughout the New England area and NY.  In 1996 CPI was acquired by The Belknap White Group but remained as a separate operation, maintaining the branch locations for installer and dealer pickup business, and using the Belknap White logistics system for deliveries to customers throughout the territory.
